Friends of the trail

Friends of the Montour Trail
Most of the day-to-day maintenance of the trail is performed by
one of six local Friends-of-the-Trail groups. Each group meets
monthly, and each group schedules frequent work parties on the
trail. The six Friends groups are listed below along with
the trail mile marker ranges maintained by the group.

Airport Friends of the Trail
Meeting every Wednesday before second Saturday of the month at 7:00 pm,
at the Forest Grove Fire Department. Call 412-859-3020 for more
information.
Work & Clean-up party, every second Saturday of the month - 9:00 am.

Fort Cherry Friends of the Trail (McDonald)
Meeting first Wednesday of the month at the McDonald
Borough Bldg., Council chambers at 7:00 pm. Work & Clean-up parties

Cecil Friends of the Montour Trail
Meeting every fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm. From May-August,
meetings are held at Kurnick Access area along the trail off Cecil-Henderson
Road; other months meet at the MTC Offices at 304 Hickman Street, Bridgeville.

Work & Clean-up party, every third Saturday of the month - 9:00 am.
(Subject to change; check information boards.) Meet at the Storage shed at

Peters Friends of the Trail
Meeting first non-holiday Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Peters Township
Community & Recreation Center.

Bethel Friends of the Trail
Meeting every first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm in the Bethel Park
Municipal Building Council Chambers. Anyone interested in the Bethel Park
Trail segment is encouraged to come. For various committee meetings
(such as Clifton Road Bridge) contact Peter Kohnke at 412-854-1835
for more information.
Work & Clean-up party, every second and fourth Saturday of the

South Hills Friends of the Trail (South Park, Jefferson Hills and Clairton)
Meeting second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM at the Jefferson Hills Borough Building. Work and trail
