- Coraopolis
- The northernmost point on the Montour Trail is located in
Moon Township near Groveton, just east of Coraopolis. From I-79 north,
get off at exit 64(Rt 51/Coraopolis); at end of ramp, turn left
(going towards Coraopolis). Travel about 0.7 miles, then make a very
sharp right turn onto Montour Rd. Travel about 300 yds to
trailhead parking underneath bridge. Additional parking is available
at a second parking area another 300 yds away (up the trail).
30 combined parking spaces (15 at mile 0.0 parking area and 15 more at extended
parking lot at mile 0.2) heavy use, gravel/dirt surfaces.
- If you're traveling I-79 south, there is no Coraopolis
exit, so you'll have to take the Neville Island exit. At the
end of the offramp turn left, which will put you on Island
Avenue headed west. Island Avenue takes you across a bridge
into Coraopolis, where you will be forced to turn right. Take
the next two lefts to Route 51 south. Travel 3/4 of a mile
and turn left where you see a sign for the Montour Trail. The
road turns under the bridge to the trailhead. Parking is available at
the trailhead and at a second parking area another 300 yds away (up the trail).
30 combined parking spaces (15 at mile 0.0 parking area and 15 more at extended
parking lot at mile 0.2) heavy use, gravel/dirt surfaces.

- Hassam Road
- Take I-79 to the Route 60 exit and get onto Route 60
(steubenville pike) going west towards Robinson Twp. Go about
1.2 miles then turn right onto Beaver Grade Road. Go about 0.3
miles and turn right onto Silver Lane. Follow Siver Lane for
about 1.8 miles, then turn left onto Forest Grove road. After
about 0.3 miles, stay on the main road as it becomes
Ewings Mill road as Forest Grove turns off to the right (but do not
turn). Stay on Ewings Mill road for another 1.0 miles when the
road becomes Hassam road. A few hundred yards later (in
the valley after decending a steep hill), the road will cross
the Montour trail; and the access/parking area will
be on the right side of the road.

- Beaver Grade Road
- Take I-79 to the Route 60 exit and get onto Route 60
(steubenville pike) going west towards Robinson Twp. Go about
1.2 miles then turn right onto Beaver Grade Road. In about 0.3 miles,
continue straight ahead on Beaver Grade at the first stop sign
(where Siver Lane turns off to the left). Continue on Beaver Grade
road for another 1.2 miles (mostly downhill) until the road starts
to flatten out in the valley, then turn right onto Old Beaver Grade
and make an immediate left turn to continue on old Beaver Gradse
road. The road then dead ends into the Montour trail about 300 yds
ahead with trail parking on the left. 30 parking spaces, moderate use,
gravel surfaces.

- Montour Run Road
- Take Route 60 (Parkway West) to Montour Run exit. Turn left
(north, toward Wickes Furniture). The Trail is close to the
road for the next mile, with several access points, including
the entrance drive to Wickes and at Park Manor Drive. Park
along road. 50+ parking spaces near entrance to Wickes; at Park Manor Drive-
18 spaces, water fountain, bike racks, and a gazebo shelter.
- Cliff Mine Road
- Take Route 60 (Parkway West) to Montour Run exit. Turn right
(south) under Parkway overpass and turn left at traffic light,
passing the Airport Mariott hotel on your right. Proceed about
one mile to trail parking on left. 40 parking spaces,
light use, rough asphalt surface, portable toilet.

- Enlow Ball Park
- Take Route 60 west, passing the Montour Run and Business Route
60 exits to McClaren Road exit. Follow McClaren Road south
about one mile. Trail parking is on the left at the ballfield
before the 5-way intersection. 36 parking spaces, moderate use,
dirt surface, water fountain, portable toilet.

- Imperial
- On Route 22/30 about 3.5 miles west of Robinson Twp., get off at
the Imperial exit and onto Route 30 West going towards Imperial.
Travel ahead (and downhill) for about 0.8 miles where the road
goes under an overpass. Procced for another 200 yds then make two
quick right turns to get onto Main street in Imperial. Go 0.3 miles
on Main street to a parking/access area on the right (by the
Findlay Twp. Activity Center). 40 parking spaces (shared with activity center),
moderate use, asphalt surface, vending machine for drinks.
- Boggs
- Take US Route 22 west to Route 980 exit. Turn left (north) on
Potato Garden Road. After about 0.5 miles, turn right onto Boggs
Road. Trailhead and parking are 100 yards on the right. 20 parking spaces,
light use, dirt surface, portable toilet.

- Quicksilver
- Take US Route 22 west to Route 980, then south 2.8 miles
(or north 3.4 miles from Noblestown Road) to Quicksilver Golf
Course. Parking is on south side of Route 980.

- McDonald
- Either Take US Route 22 west to Route 980, then south
5 miles to McDonald, then turn right on Noblestown Road.
Or take I-79 south to Noblestown Road in Carnegie,
then 9 miles west through McDonald. Trailhead and parking
are west of town, just before the large railroad trestle.
Parking is south of the road (near the new treatment plant)
and the trail entrance is north of the road.

- Galati Road
- Take I-79 to Route 50 west at Bridgeville. Follow route 50
about 7 miles to the 50/980 intersection in the town of Venice
(near Mucks Lunch). At the intersection, go straight and
stay on route 50 (going uphill, west, towards Hickory). Travel
about 0.4 miles then turn right onto a small unmarked road
(this road may be marked with a sign pointing to Tilger Composting).
Travel 0.4 miles on this road and then turn right onto Galati
road. The trail access/parking area will be 50 yds ahead on
the right. 18 parking spaces, light use, dirt surface,
water fountain, portable toilet.

- Venice
- Take I-79 to Route 50 west at Bridgeville. Follow route 50
about 7 miles to the 50/980 intersection in the town of Venice
(near Mucks Lunch). At the intersection, turn left onto
route 980 (going uphill towards Cannonsburg). Travel uphill
about 150 yds to the trail entrance (and parking area) on
the left side of the road. 8 parking spaces,
moderate use, dirt surface.

- Cecil Park
- Take I-79 to Route 50 west at Bridgeville. About three miles
west of the end of the four-lane portion of Route 50, Cecil
Twp Park is on the left. Park in western lot
(near municipal bldg) and follow signs across creek, past
tennis courts and up the hill to access trail. 50+ parking spaces,
moderate use, asphalt surface, full restrooms

- McConnell Road
- Take I-79 to the Southpointe/Hendersonville exit (exit 48).
At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn east towards Hendersonville
and go 0.5 miles to a stop sign. Turn left at the stop sign onto
Morganza road, and then go 0.6 miles downhill and turn left onto
Cecil Henderson road. Travel 2.2 miles on Cecil Henderson to
McConnell Road then turn left. Go 0.7 miles on McConnell
(mostly downhill) and the trail access/parking area will be on
the left near a right turn in the road. 14 parking spaces,
light use, dirt surface, portable toilet.

- Take I-79 to the Southpointe/Hendersonville exit (exit 48).
At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn east towards Hendersonville
and go 0.5 miles to a stop sign. Turn left at the stop sign onto
Morganza road, and then go 0.6 miles downhill and turn left onto
Cecil Henderson road. Travel 1.2 miles on Cecil Henderson to
the trail access/parking area on the left directly accross from
Caley Lane. 20 parking spaces, light use, dirt surface,
drinking fountain.

- Hendersonville
- Take I-79 to the Southpointe/Hendersonville exit (exit 48).
At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn east towards Hendersonville
and go 0.5 miles to a stop sign. Turn left at the stop sign onto
Morganza road, and then go 0.5 miles downhill to the intersection
with Oriole Drive. One trail access/parking area can be found 200 yds
up Oriole Drive on the right. The second access/parking area
is across the road directly behind the deli building (with the flag pole
in front). On deli side- 53 parking spaces, light use, dirt surface;

- Arrowhead Trail - Valley Brook Rd/Route 19
- On US Route 19 about 4.3 miles south of South Hills Village Mall,
turn onto Valley Brook road going east. The trail access area
(and parking) are just 50 yds west of Route 19, and
you may have to cross back underneath Route 19
(from the bottom of the exit ramp) to reach the parking area. 12 parking spaces
+ 1 handicapped space, heavy use, asphalt surface.

- Arrowhead Trail - Valley Brook Rd/Maplewood Dr
- On US Route 19 about 4.3 miles south of South Hills Village Mall,
turn onto Valley Brook road going east. Travel about 0.4 miles
on Valley Brook and look for the trail access sign on the
right side near Maplewood drive. Turn right onto the small road
near the sign, go about 100 yds then cross over a one lane bridge
to the trail parking area. 22 parking spaces + 1 handicapped space on asphalt,
another 6 parking spaces on dirt (across bridge), moderate use.

- Arrowhead Trail - Valley Brook Rd/McMurray Rd
- On US Route 19 about 4.3 miles south of South Hills Village Mall,
turn onto Valley Brook road going east. Travel about 1.4 miles
on Valley Brook to a big intersection (lots of lanes and traffic lights)
with East McMurray road. Turn right and immediately (20 yds) turn right
again into the trail parking area,
Or turn right then pass under
the trail (overpass) then make an immediately left into another parking
area on the other side of the trail. ~ 18 combined parking spaces on both sides of intersection,
moderate use, dirt surface.

- Arrowhead Trail - Valley Brook Rd/Bebout Rd
- On US Route 19 about 4.3 miles south of South Hills Village Mall,
turn onto Valley Brook road going east. Travel about 1.4 miles on
Valley Brook to the big intersection with East McMurray road.
Go staight through the intersection (staying on Valley Brook) and travel
about another 0.5 miles to the intersection with Bebout road. The trail
parking area will be on the right side of the road immediately before
the intersection. 16 parking spaces, moderate use,
asphalt surface, must ascend 43 steps to trail above.

- Arrowhead Trail - Bebout (Handicap Only Area)
- On US Route 19 about 4.3 miles south of South Hills Village Mall,
turn onto Valley Brook road going east. Travel about 1.4 miles on
Valley Brook to the big intersection with East McMurray road.
Go staight through the intersection (staying on Valley Brook) and travel
about another 0.5 miles to the intersection with Bebout road. Turn Left
onto Bebout, go about .2 miles and look for a small access road on the right
(marked with a Montour Trail - Handicap Only Parking Area sign). Proceed
uphill on the access road about 200 yards to trailhead. 3 handicapped parking spaces,
light use, asphalt surface.

- Arrowhead Trail - PetersWood Park
- On US Route 19 about 4.3 miles south of South Hills Village Mall,
turn onto Valley Brook road going east. Travel about 1.4 miles on
Valley Brook to the big intersection with East McMurray road.
Go straight thru the intersection (staying on Valley Brook) and travel
about another 0.5 miles to the intersection with Bebout road. Turn right
onto BeBout road, then go about 0.3 miles and turn left into the PetersWood
Park entrance. To find the trail entrance after entering the park,
go uphill on the main park road for about 0.3 miles, then turn left onto
a small road (after a soccer field and under the big power lines). Proceed
down the small road about 200 yds to a parking lot. The trail
entrance is marked with a sign near the middle of the lot on the
downhill side. Behind the sign, follow this paved trail about .3 miles
downhill until it intersects with the Arrowhead trail.
- Bethel Park Branch - Logan Road
- Take Route 88 south, to right on Logan Road, to left on Irishtown Road.
Trailhead and parking are on the right. 24 parking spaces, moderate use,
dirt surface

- Bethel Park Branch - Clifton Road
- On US Route 19 just south of Upper Saint Clair High School, get onto McMurray
road (Orange Belt) going east. Travel about 1.7 miles eastward on
McMurray to the intersection with Clifton road (by AL'S Cafe). Turn left onto Clifton,
go about 100 yards, then turn left onto the road approaching George
Washington Elementary School. One trail entrance is adjacent to the
school parking lot, and another entrance is on the other side of
Clifton road. One row of parking spaces in the school lot
(farthest from the school) is available for trail parking. 11 parking spaces (only
available during non-school hours), moderate use, asphalt surface.

- Bethel Park Branch - Limestone Dr.
- On US Route 19 just south of Upper Saint Clair High School, get onto McMurray
road going east. Travel about 1.5 miles eastward on
McMurray to the intersection with Clifton road. Stay on McMurray by
turning to the right at this intersection. Go 0.5 miles south on McMurray
then turn left onto Limestone Drive. The trail entrance (and parking)
will be 250 yards ahead on the left. 9 parking spaces, heavy use,
dirt surface, water fountain.

- Bethel Park Branch - Brush Run Road
- On US Route 19 just south of Upper Saint Clair High School, get onto McMurray
road going east. Travel about 1.5 miles eastward on
McMurray to the intersection with Clifton road. Turn left onto Clifton,
then travel 1.2 miles (mostly downhill) and turn right onto Brush
Run road. Travel (mostly uphill) on this winding road for about 0.7 miles
to trail access areas and parking on both sides of the road
(near big power lines). ~ 60 total parking spaces on both sides of Brush Run road,
1 handicapped parking space, light use, combination of asphalt and dirt surfaces.

- Brownsville Road
- From Lebanon Church road (near South Park - Jefferson border),
take Brownsville Road southward about 3.5 miles to intersection with Piney Fork
road (near CITGO station). Turn left onto Piney Fork Road. Travel 0.1 mi to
a trail access area on right side of road ~14 parking spaces on dirt surface.
For a second (and bigger) access area, continue on Piney Fork Road another
0.3 mi to the access area on the right ~20 spaces, asphalt surface.
- Triphammer Road
- Take Route 88 south to Library, then left on
Brownsville-Library Road (Piney Fork Road). Go straight
through intersection with Brownsville Road. Right on
Triphammer Road. Trailhead and parking are at the first right.

- Route 51 - Large
- On Route 51 about 3.7 miles south of Century III mall (Large, PA),
turn onto Peters Creek road, and proceed into the "Park n Ride"
lot (under Route 43). The trail starts at the extreme back end
of the lot near the "No Outlet" sign next to the creek.

Go 0.4 miles on Nike Site Road, then turn right onto Gregg Station Road.
Travel about 0.5 miles (mostly downhill) on Gregg Station Road where the Panhandle Trail
crosses the road. Access area will be on the right side of the road.

- Take I-79 to the Carnegie exit, then get on Noblestown Road heading west.

junction in Oakdale, turn left and travel about 60 yards where the trail crosses route 978.

- Panhandle Trail - Noblestown Village, Mill St.
- Take I-79 south to Noblestown Road in Carnegie, then 6.0 miles
west to Oakdale. Continue west on Noblestown Road an additional 1.1 miles to the
village of Noblestown and turn left onto Mill Street. Go about 200 yds on Mill Street
to where the trail crosses Mill Street.

- Panhandle Trail - Sturgeon, Station St.
- Take I-79 south to Noblestown Road in Carnegie, then 6.0 miles
west to Oakdale. Continue west on Noblestown Road an additional 2.3 miles to Sturgeon
and turn left onto Station Street. Go uphill about 300 yds on Station Street
to where the trail crosses Station Street.
5 parking spaces(on asphalt) + 3 handicap spaces on asphalt, light use, water fountain,
full restrooms

- McDonald Trail Station
- Take US Route 22 west to Route 980, then follow 980 south
5 miles into McDonald Boro. Or take I-79 south to Noblestown Road in Carnegie,
then 9 miles west to McDonald Boro. Route 980 crosses the Panhandle Trail
at the TrailStation on the southern edge of town.
