Construction - Morganza Road Bridge

Description: The gap at Morganza Road in Hendersonville is the second major gap in the Montour Trail (trail mile 27.1). The trail master plan specifies installation of a new bridge at this location allowing trail users to avoid crossing Morganza Road.

History:

• November 2006: Preliminary design completed
• December 2007: DCNR grant received for $173,000 for further development of the Montour Trail including development of drawings, specifications, and related documents that will facilitate the bidding and construction of the Morganza and Georgetown bridges
• November 2008: Final Engineering Design Final engineering design is expected to continue through winter 2008/2009 and finish in late summer of 2009. Contingent upon securing some additional funding, bridge construction will start soon after completion of the design.
